I started a fashion blog in order to share my love of fashion, clothes and styling, and most of the time the looks come to me without hesitation. But, like any novelist with writer’s block, even I occasionally wake up in the morning completely stuck. Sometimes it is so hard to think of a cute outfit or feel cute in what I’m wearing. I’m sure this happens to all of you. It’s like having a bad hair day. You just can’t help it and quick outfit ideas to have on hand in those moments can be so helpful! One great trick for days like these is simple, go monochromatic!
Here’s what you do! To complete a monochromatic outfit find a few items in your closet that are all the same color or same shade and pair them together. It is so easy and looks great! It is stylish and effortless. It can be a dress and shoes in the same color, pants and a top in the same shade, or whatever you can match.
I paired my maroon, wine color body suit, utility jacket (old but similar options here, here and here), and purse (similar linked here and here) with one of my favorite pairs of tuxedo stripe, high waisted jeans. They pair perfectly together! (Side note: I absolutely love styling my body suits with high waisted jeans.) Even though my body is suit is a slightly different color than my jacket and purse, it’s ok. They don’t have to be perfect, so don’t stress yourself out by trying to find the exact same color. As long as they are in the same shade, it will still accomplish the monochromatic look.
To top it all off, I think the best shoe pairing for a monochromatic look, that is, if the shoe is not already part of the matching outfit, is anything nude. Boot, heel, sandal, whatever the outfit calls for, just keep it nude. Here I am wearing a simple strappy nude heel that is so subtle. A nude shoe will pair perfectly with whatever monochromatic color you have chosen and let the matching colors be the star of the show!
I hope that the next time you wake up with no clue of what to wear, this post can be helpful to you! It is so simple, yet so chic and easy! Always feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I would love to connect more with you guys!
