Hi guys! If you know me or have been following me, you know I grew up in San Diego, so I’m not used to wearing big, heavy coats very often. In fact, San Diegans feel one gust of wind or one rain drop and we bust out our parkas/ponchos, any old coat and any cold weather clothing we can get our hands on. But living in Indiana, its fun to experience winter and dressing for cold weather. This is the new normal I guess!
Knowing me I get sick of things… anything… very quickly. So finding ways to spice things up or make them last longer is always great for me! One thing that I’m probably going to have to learn is getting used to the same 1 or 2 coats all the time, even if it is just to and from places or to get from the car to the restaurant, or whatever! But until then…
I am so excited to show you this amazing trick to switch up some of your basic old coats into something a little different or more special! And it changes the look completely! This navy coat I got at Zara, years ago. It is one of my favorites. A great basic jacket that goes with so much and has worked for me many occasions. I wore in all through Europe when I lived for five months in Italy.
Even though I do like building suspense, by rambling on and on… maybe i should tell you my trick!
I used the removable fur from a different jacket (shown here), that snaps on and off and pinned it on to my Zara coat, which originally had no fur! This totally changes the look of the coat and it dresses it up so that the coat looks much more fancy!
