I don’t know about you but I am LOVING the beanie trend with the poof on top! I think it is so fun and is the perfect touch to any cold weather outfit. Since this trend has started every time I try and wear any of my older beanies with out a poof I just don’t like it. It’s like something is missing. The ice cream with out toppings, the cupcake with out frosting! It seems so boring now that I have the option of wearing a cute puff ball on top!
I have been on the hunt for a red poof ball beanie for a while now and I was having an oddly difficult time finding one, or at least for a reasonable price. Considering it’s Christmas time and I thought red would be everywhere and also considering these beanies are everywhere. But no luck. They were all too expensive! I was not happy! There are some cute options for beanies at JCrew like here and here but personally I think that $40 on a beanie is a little much…. Until I thought of a crafty alternative.
I was in Target looking for a red beanie where I thought for sure I would find one, and I found this cable knit one…Sans Poof! I was so bummed but I was wandering around in the dollar section (you can not go to Target with out venturing through the dollar section!) and I found this red poof ball that is meant for gift wrapping. I held it up to my beanie to see if it was the right red and… Wa La! I thought… I’ll just make my own!
I went home and simply sewed the poof to the top of the beanie and I am soooo happy with the result. It is the perfect red poof beanie I was looking for and I highly recommend you doing the same. Don’t be afraid to get creative and get innovative if you can find exactly what you want.
When shopping around and looking for something specific, don’t be afraid to get innovative and get creative. I often wear things that I make myself or even wear things that aren’t my correct size or even not for women! Ha! Who cares… if it works, ROCK IT!

I hope I have inspired you to get creative with fashion and hopefully you can try this at home. Is there anything that you guys have gotten creative with or made yourself at home?
