Happy first day of Winter everyone! As most of you know, I recently moved from sunny San Diego, California to good ole’ four-seasoned Fort Wayne, Indiana. So far I am loving it! Growing up with the same predictable beautiful weather all the time was amazing, but I have never really experienced the four seasons as a part of daily life. I have been in snowy places many times growing up and while visiting Indiana before I moved, but it has never been a part of my home. While today is the first official day of winter, last week I woke up to my first snowfall! I loved it!! The weather, so far, has been bearable as long as you a prepared for it by being properly dressed. In this post I want to tell you guys about my first two snow essentials that I am loving, and that will be saving my cold butt this winter.
First and foremost is this coat! This is probably one of the best buys of my life, especially my Indiana life. When the weather really starts to cool down having a heavy coat is essential, and wool is a perfect mix of warm and fashionable. This one is from JCrew Factory. It is the factory version of an adorable JCrew classic that is much more expensive. I bought this jacket last year so this is my second winter with it and it is still a fave of mine. The fur snaps on and off so when I get sick of the fur, or just feel like switching it up, I can! I know I’ll have this coat for many years to come!
The second snow essential that I have recently purchased are my Sperry Shear Water Buckle Duck boots, (long name, I know) also from JCrew! These babies are going to save me this winter. I grabbed them during an off-season sale in July, so use that as a reminder to keep your eyes open for great all-season deals any time of year. When it is snowy and wet outside these will be my best friend. This is my first season wearing these so I am excited to rock them, and this color will go with anything!
I think that these, my first two snow essentials, I am going to be ready for winter!
Are you guys?
